TH Electrical Contractors was set up by Terry Hill back in 1986.  Terry qualified as an electrician right out of school and by the time he was 19 had 25 engineers working under his supervision.

“I used to get all the difficult customers to work with as it seemed I was good at building relationships – even with some of the tougher characters” he says.  After 14 years as an employee he decided to become a contractor, still with the same company.

It wasn’t long before he came across one of the main contractors on a site with an electrical problem that appeared unsolvable.  Terry knew he could fix it and that was the foundation for the thriving business he has today.

Now his son, Dean, and Mark Coutts, who have been with the company since they left school, are co-directors.

Terry’s reputation for problem solving has led to all kinds of electrical contracts, including design work Public Health England, analysis of air particles for the pharmaceutical industry and refurbishment of large cranes.

Some of the original clients from the early days are still with the company today.  The company ethos is to give a true and honest service – regardless of whether it’s a big conglomerate or Mrs Jones down the road.  Brushes, dustpans and waste sacks are all part of the kit for the teams – and cleaning up after themselves is just as important as delivering projects at a high level of workmanship and on time.
